On June 27, 2021, the Atlanta Braves visited the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Kyle Muller started for the Braves, while Tyler Mahle went for the Reds. In the top of the eighth, Sean Doolittle was on the mound. Freddie Freeman led off by flying out to Jesse Winker. Ozzie Albies doubled. Austin Riley then walked to the plate. DOOLITTLE HELD THIS BALL IN HIS HAND!! He threw a 91.1 mph four-seamer for a ball. (Yes, that means Tyler Stephenson also touched this ball!!) Doolittle came back with another fastball for a called strike. He threw a fastball again, and Riley swung at this ball and missed. With the count 1-2, Doolittle threw a 92.3 mph four-seamer, and RILEY FOULED OFF THIS BALL!! This ball was then retired. Riley eventually popped out to Mike Freeman. Doolittle intentionally walked Dansby Swanson. Ehire Adrianza popped out to Joey Votto to end the half inning. The Braves went on to win 4-0 behind home runs by Ronald Acuna, Jr. and Riley.
