MLB Authenticated - Juan Lagares Single (483rd Career Hit) Off Jake Junis. Shipped USPS Ground Advantage. Buyer pays shipping and handling. On August 17, 2019, the New York Mets visited the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium. Jacob deGrom was on the mound for the Mets. Jake Junis started for the Royals. deGrom dominated, giving up hits only to Hunter Dozier, Jorge Soler, and Nicky Lopez. Meanwhile, Pete Alonso and Juan Lagares both had three hits, and Wilson Ramos had two.
In the top of the 7th, Lagares walked to the plate after Luis Guillorme grounded out. Junis held THIS BALL in his hand. On the first pitch, Junis threw a 79 mph curveball. LAGARES SMACKED THIS BALL back up the middle for a sharp line drive to Brett Phillips. (Yes, that means Brett Phillips touched this ball too!) This ball was then retired. Aaron Altherr followed that with a HBP. Amed Rosario walked. With bases loaded, JD Davis struck out. But Pete Alonso hit a single to drive in two runs. Michael Conforto closed out the half inning by striking out. The Mets went on to win the game 4-1.
This ball is MLB Authenticated as the single that Lagares hit against Junis in the 7th inning on August 17, 2019. Please note that the plastic case for this ball has some wear and tear. Thank you for purchasing!!
